National Lead - Physiological Sciences

In January 2015, Adrian Carragher became the Healthcare Science National Lead for Physiological Sciences, working with Scottish Government to assist the policy implementation of the National Delivery Plan (NDP) for Healthcare Scientists, and to support HCS professional leads and the scientific workforce in Health Boards in maximising their contribution to redesign of services and roles in healthcare. Working at national, regional and local levels this role contributes to a national programme to drive improvement in quality across the range of services provided by HCSs in Physiological Sciences.
Adrian is currently Head of Audiology Service for NHS Ayrshire & Arran involving both strategic and operational management of the Service. Adrian has been an audiologist for over 25 years and has enjoyed a varied career in both the Scottish NHS and the Hearing Aid Industry where he has been able to develop as an audiologist working across all age groups from new-borns and the very young in the identification of hearing loss to the adult population and the elderly with the delivery of hearing aid services and as someone with knowledge and experience of how Audiology care and services are delivered in other sectors and markets.
Adrian is married with 2 young children and enjoys listening to live music and socialising with friends.
