Ailidh qualified as a physiotherapist from Queen Margaret University in 2006 and started her early career in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, before moving to NHS Lothian in 2007. Ailidh specialised in the management of neurological conditions and continues to work clinically.

From 2014-2017 Ailidh undertook a secondment to support delivery of the AHP National Delivery Plan within NHS Lothian. This role consisted of the development and implementation of seven day working practices for Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy staff across acute services in NHS Lothian.  

Ailidh joined the national AHP Practice Education network in 2017 as one of the NHS Lothian AHP Practice Education Leads and joined NHS Education Scotland as a Senior Educator in 2021. To date Ailidh has led on the AHP Practice-based learning recovery work and the implementation of the Physiotherapy funded places scheme.
