NHS Education for Scotland

After completing his nurse training in 2002, Brian began a career in gastrointestinal endoscopy where he worked for 19 years. Brian was chosen to train as a nurse endoscopist in 2009 learning colonoscopy initially, and gastroscopy a few years later.  

Through a keen interest in endoscopy training, curriculum development and advanced practice roles Brian found himself recruited by GCU as clinical lead for the endoscopy course in 2013 which involved collaborating increasingly with NHS Education for Scotland.  

Brian joined NHS Education for Scotland as a senior educator in July 2021 attracted by the opportunity to use his knowledge and experience to help meet the educational needs of the post pandemic workforce.
