Elaine Graham joined the profession in 1984 as a Student Physiological Measurement Technician with NHS Ayrshire & Arran. Throughout her early years in Cardiac Clinical Physiology she developed a keen interest in Echocardiography, after passing her exam and becoming fully BSE accredited in Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography echo became her speciality.  Several years later, after further training and study Elaine became the first Clinical Physiologist in the UK to achieve full BSE Trans- oesophageal accreditation and to practice independently.  Elaine’s research work includes early Herceptin trial for breast Ca and more recently NT-pro BNP.  At present she leads Echocardiography service for NHS Ayrshire & Arran.
