Academy for Healthcare Science

Elaine joined the AHCS in September 2016 as an advisor, focusing on the Academy’s role as an HCPC approved education provider for the Scientist Training Programme, and subsequently as the external quality assurance provider for the healthcare science apprenticeships. She became the Head of Standards in March 2018 expanding her role to be the Academy’s lead for the Equivalence processes. She is also currently with HEE's Academy for Advancing Practice and the development of an equivalence/recognition process for Advanced Clinical Practitioners.

Previously, Elaine has worked in a variety quality and governance roles in higher education for some 20 something years. She has experience of being on both sides of the quality assurance table, having worked at the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), and as a university quality manager. Elaine has also worked with a number of universities, and private higher education providers in developing and reviewing their QA systems, both in the UK and overseas. She has worked with several international quality assurance agencies training their assessors.
