Liz completed her Microbiology degree at the University of Glasgow, is registered with the HCPC, holds Fellowship of the Institute of Biomedical Science and is a Chartered Scientist.  She has recently successfully completed the STP Equivalence in Clinical Microbiology via the AHCS route and is in the process of registering with HCPG as a Clinical Scientist.  Liz will then hold dual registration as a Biomedical Scientist and as a Clinical Scientist.

Liz works as a Biomedical Scientist with NHS Lanarkshire, where she is currently Microbiology Technical Manager.

She chairs the Laboratories’ Education and Training Committee and represents Microbiology at a number of national groups, such as the Scottish Microbiology and Virology Network.

Professionally, Liz has served as a council member and Honorary Secretary of the Scottish Microbiology Association and as an invited lecturer to Glasgow Caledonian University’s undergraduate Biomedical Science Programme.

Previously, Liz was on secondment to NHS Education for Education as Healthcare Science Speciality Lead for Infection Sciences.
