North West HCS Workforce Lead

Helen has worked in the NHS for over 25 years and started her career as a Clinical Scientist in Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics  at Central Manchester Foundation Trust. She is passionate about all aspects of healthcare science and set up the North West Healthcare Science Network in 2004. Her role as North West Healthcare Science Workforce Lead for Health Education North West means she is the strategic lead for all 54 professions of Healthcare Scientist locally, regionally and nationally across all workforce and education work programmes. She has also developed strong links with the Chief Scientific Officer Professor Sue Hill and is currently on secondment as Scientific Project Lead for the North region to ensure that all Healthcare Scientists are engaged in the key priorities for NHS England.
