Katy Hetherington joined NES in January 2022 to lead the Equality, Diversity and Human Rights Team. The team supports NES in its equality work as well as developing education and learning resources for health and social care staff. Prior to NES she worked for Public Health Scotland and for NHS Health Scotland on a number of public health programmes including as a Service Manager in the Covid vaccination programme and as the Organisational Lead on childhood adversity. She led national work on public health’s role in the prevention of homelessness in Scotland was also involved in the health sector’s contribution to Scotland’s National Action Plan on Human Rights. She continues to have an interest in equity in health and workplace inclusion.
