Robin has worked in the civil engineering industry in both the UK and Middle East. He has owned and run a variety of companies from the mundane to the more unusual.  He first became involved in the NHS as a result of what would now be called an adverse incident.  He has been actively involved in the HAI agenda since about 2002 and was a member of the HAI Taskforce for about five years, chairing its Public Engagement and Communication Team.  He also Chaired the 2008 HAI Standards Project Group and the Health Technology on MRSA Screening.  He has also worked as a lay inspector for the Healthcare Environment Inspectorate.  He currently chairs the National Services Health Protection Scotland HAI Programme Board.
