NHS Education for Scotland

In January 2015 Sheila Mitchell joined the Nursing and Midwifery and Allied Health Professions directorate of NHS Education for Scotland as Programme Director for Health and Social Care Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care.

Having specialised in the dual areas of mental health and staff wellbeing, Sheila worked with the Chaplaincy and Staff Care Service in NHS Ayrshire and Arran for thirteen years, where she was also the service Lead.        

Sheila has an interest in the strategic development of specialist spiritual care provision within NHS Scotland and has co-written the forthcoming Scottish Government guidance on Spiritual Care to NHS Boards.
